Daily control of steriliser performance with the Bowie \u0026 Dick test is carried out by placing the test pack in the empty and preheated autoclave chamber and running the specific Bowie-Dick programme. After the sterilisation cycle is complete, the Bowie \u0026 Dick pack must be removed, allowed to cool, and then opened to read the result. The uniform colour change of the test sheet from yellow to black (as well as the colour change of the indicator on the external label) confirms that the control was successful and that the parameters were met.
