Flat Reels/Pouches for Sterilisation STERIM® sterilisation reels/pouches are made up of a paper part – manufactured with special medical-grade paper – and an 8-layer polyester-polypropylene composite (CPPPT). Thanks to the unique characteristics of these materials, the 3-channel factory seal is both durable and flexible, ensuring easy opening of the packaging without fibre release (no dust). Type 1 chemical indicators for STEAM, Ethylene Oxide (EO), and Formaldehyde (FORM) sterilisation processes are printed on the sealing line of the sterilisation reel/pouch. These include information on the indicator's colour before and after the process, as well as basic technical data such as BATCH No., production date, and size. The information is provided in four languages. After placing the properly washed, disinfected, and dried instruments inside the reel/pouch (cut to the desired size) and, optionally, after protecting sharp tips to prevent damage to the packaging, the assembly is closed and sealed using a heat sealer. It is also important to remember to include an internal chemical test (type 4, 5, or 6) inside the package. The recommended sealing temperature is 150-200°C, depending on the heat sealer model used.
