Description

STERIM® Bowie & Dick Test Pack The Bowie & Dick Test consists of an indicator sheet with a test substance placed between layers of special paper and foam. This construction of the Bowie & Dick pack simulates the most critical conditions and allows verification that the water vapour generated during the cycle can effectively penetrate all parts of a pack to be sterilised. The Bowie & Dick test is a Type 2 chemical indicator. The Bowie & Dick pack consists of: A Type 2 Bowie & Dick test sheet. An identification card for subsequent archiving. Layers of foam, laminate, and special paper. An outer packaging of crepe paper. A label on the packaging with a Type 1 chemical indicator. Daily control of steriliser performance with the Bowie & Dick test is carried out by placing the test pack in the empty and preheated autoclave chamber and running the specific Bowie-Dick programme. After the sterilisation cycle is complete, the Bowie & Dick pack must be removed, allowed to cool, and then opened to read the result. The uniform colour change of the test sheet from yellow to black (as well as the colour change of the indicator on the external label) confirms that the control was successful and that the parameters were met. The Bowie & Dick test information sheet must be filled in with the relevant data (date, autoclave, cycle, result) and archived. Use the Bowie & Dick test also after every repair or technical review of your steam steriliser. Advantages of STERIM® Bowie & Dick steriliser performance control packs: Ease of use and clear interpretation of the test result. The Bowie & Dick test is ready to use, requiring no preparation. Compatibility with the universally recognised Bowie & Dick standard. Bowie & Dick pack supplied with an identification card to facilitate results archiving.
