STERIM® Biological Indicators in Ampoule for Steam Sterilisation (24h Results) 25 units

Autoclave Steam Sterilization Biological Tests STERIM® biological test ampoules for autoclaves contain strains of the bacterium Geobacillus stearothermophilus and a sealed portion of liquid culture medium. The ampoule, enclosed in a paper-film package, is placed along with the packs to be sterilized inside the autoclave chamber. After the sterilization cycle is completed, the inner glass ampoule (with the culture medium) is broken (using the incubator's crusher), allowing the medium to come into contact with the spores. The ampoules are then subjected to a 24-hour incubation period at a temperature of 55-60°C. After 24 hours, the bacterial proliferation capacity is checked. If, despite the sterilization process, bacteria grow (which is indicated by a change in the color of the culture medium), it means that the sterilization process was carried out incorrectly. The maintenance of the original color of the culture medium confirms the effectiveness of the sterilization. The packaging of each biological test ampoule also contains a Type 1 chemical process indicator, which, through a change in color, confirms that the package has been exposed to the sterilization process (however, this indicator does not, by itself, confirm the effectiveness of the sterilization).
